Affordable Childcare for Employee Retention: Entry 2

For the original post regarding our work on an effort to address affordable childcare for employee retention, see the blog post from Sept 1, 2024. This entry is an update on those thoughts and our progress. Ultimately, we've identified the city where we can help facilitate a solution that "checks all the boxes." We hit a few roadblocks, primarily through some local entities that want to be involved, but we need to work through roles/responsibilities before proceeding together. Ultimately, we identified a great location in a market that requires pricepoints that are above neighboring communities. Workers, therefore, are forced to enroll their children in programs outside of their community, find a family member to care for the child/children, or other similar obstacles. We think we can address these issues through our solution and will have more updates in the coming months. At this point, it is a waiting game as the conversations with other contributors develop.
