Affordable Childcare for Employee Retention

  • One of the primary issues affecting local communities is the lack of affordable childcare, particularly for middle-income and lower-income employees. We've participated in several efforts to address this problem. Beginning in June 2024, we began putting together a solution in partnership with a local chamber of commerce, economic development authority, and 15 companies that are the primary employers in the area. We will provide updates in as find answers in the local community. We hope you follow along as we figure out a solution that others can copy/paste in their local context. The goal is to offer quality childcare solutions for a localized employee base without hurting the revenue of the childcare provider. This initiative approach will seek to offer childcare slots to employees of participating companies at a reduced rate as long as that employee remains at the company.
  • Please follow our progress under the Paro Blog. See the blog tab for our September 1, 2024 post for the first entry. We will provide updates as we go through this process. We are excited to play a role in figuring out a solution to this common problem across our country.

  • Our assistance has included business and financial strategic planning, grant writing, and compliance/grant administration. To date, we have facilitated $5+ million for these companies with an additional $2MM in grant applications currently under review for approval.
  • Through this process, these clients have purchased energy efficient equipment, implemented process automation, and reduced employee physical impacts. The lumber companies participating in this program will experience an expected 200-400% increase in production by summer of 2025.

$150MM in Tourism Grants for Covid Response: How Public-Private Partnerships Enabled Georgia Hotels to Overcame Covid Financial Obstacles

  • During Covid, the tourism industry experienced a disproportionate loss in revenue. As Covid travel restrictions eased and tourism began to increae, so did the cost of increased labor rates and other fees associated with services rendered.
  • Lagging revenues could not support rapid cost increases in satisfying tourism deman, which created a crushing financial burden for most Georgia hotels.
  • Paro worked with a leadership group of Georgia hotels and Governor Kemp's Office of Planning and Budget to design a program to address key issues that would restore Georgia hotels to full capacity, ultimately securing $150MM in funding for Georgia's tourism industry.
  • Key considerations included regulatory and compliance concerns associated with 2 CFR requirements, the recipients' liabilities, distributing and managing the funds properly, and confirming funds were applied for allowable use cases.
  • This program is one example of funding available to companies operating a toursim business. Paro can help organizations associated with tourism secure funding for employee development and retention, as well as campus/facility needs.
  • Learn more about this program here. If you would like help applying for this funding, contact Paro. Our team can guide you through the complexities of securing and managing these grant funds, evaluating the cost/benefit impact of these funds on your company, and considering the risk associated with accepting funding.
  • This program illustrates several possible solutions Paro offers through public-private partnerships. We can assist government entities in program design and oversight of grant recipients. Also, we can work alongside an association of companies to secure funding. Finally, our team can assist individual businesses in securing funding and satisfying compliance requirements associated with a grant.

Technology and Facilities Grants and Incentives: Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail Receives Support for Business Development and Operations

  • The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail is a collection of championship caliber golf courses, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., distributed across the state of Alabama, as part of investments by the Retirement Systems of Alabama. The Trail started with 378 holes at eight sites throughout the state, but has grown to 468 holes at eleven sites. Learn more about RTJ here
  • Located in multiple communities across the State of Alabama, RTJ had multiple vendor contracts that were not serving the needs of the company. RTJ's scenario was a tyipcal experience for Paro's clients. Companies do not have the internal expertise to be aware of incentives and grants available to them.
  • A unique part of Paro's process is reviewing vendor contracts to identify grants and incentives that can fund business development strategies. Invoice reviews allow our team to understand a client's current expenses and identify grants and incentives available within specific vendor expenses.
  • Paro was able to identify a confidential amount of funding for RTJ to support business development strategies outlined by the company's CEO and CFO.
  • Paro can run a complimentary analysis on companies with 5 to 5,000 FTEs in any industry to identify potential funding available. If the funding opportunity is beneficial to the client's goals, Paro will secure the funding and manage all compliance reporting required by the issuing agency.
